Attorney Ford Banister
I always knew, from a very young age, that I wanted to be a lawyer. The ideal of defending basic freedoms and civil rights through representation of individuals in the legal system appealed to me greatly.
During law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida, I worked at several different law firms and undertook projects for local attorneys. I gained experience in many different areas of law. At different times, I worked on personal injury, social security, insurance defense, franchise, contract and consumer protection matters. I also worked in the law school library and served as a mentor for incoming students to whom I provided assistance with research assignments and study strategies.
I am licensed to practice law by the State of New York. I am a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. I am also admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for Northern District of Illinois.
I am a native English speaker and can speak some basic Mandarin Chinese.
I am now pleased to provide immigration assistance to applicants from around the world who seek to travel to the U.S. for business and tourism, medical treatment, and childbirth.
For more information on my perspective and experience, see my blog post entitled “Why I Chose to Become an Immigration Attorney.”
